I’d like to introduce you all to the fabulous Veronica Wolff<\/a>, whose new YA novel, ISLE OF NIGHT, the first book in her new Watchers series<\/a>, drops Tuesday, September 6.\u00a0\"IsleHere’s the book blurb:<\/p>\n

People have asked me, do we really need yet another vampire series on the shelves? I like to answer the question with another question: Don\u2019t we always need another kick-ass girl series?!<\/p>\n

Isle of Night is told from the point of view of Annelise Drew, a smart seventeen-year old from an abusive home who lacks the safety net of money and family. She\u2019s out of options when a sexy stranger approaches her in a parking lot and offers her a lift. Against her better judgment, she goes along for the ride. <\/p>\n

That sexy stranger is Ronan, a tracer who works for a coven of ancient vampires. He whisks her to the Isle of Night, where the vampires recruit outcasts like her to become Watchers, an elite group of young women acting as agents, emissaries, and sometimes assassins. The training is rigorous, but Annelise works hard to succeed\u2026because on the Isle of Night, failure means death.<\/p>\n

So, yeah, maybe there is room for one more vampire book, because I like to think there\u2019s always room for a brave, sassy girl who learns to live off her strength and smarts.<\/p>\n

Oh, and if people don\u2019t like that answer, I have a second reply. Does the world really need more vampire books? I tend to think\u2026HELLZ YEAH!<\/p>\n
