And at least one request to her addressed the request to me. (!!)\u00a0Proofread fail!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/kate.ilona-andrews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/kate1cover.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Giving the book a cover quote means endorsing it with our name.\u00a0 It\u2019s similar to tapping a reader on the shoulder and saying, \u201cHey, I liked this.\u00a0\u00a0 You like my books, you should give this a try.\u201d I don\u2019t usually do this lightly.\u00a0 I really have to like the book.<\/p>\n<p>But sometimes I don\u2019t even read the book in question before declining to quote. The deadlines are kind of killing us right now and have been for the past year, so sometimes I don\u2019t have time, but occasionally it\u2019s not the lack of time that\u2019s the culprit, it\u2019s the way the request is phrased.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I offered to let her use my name in the blurb if she&#8217;d finish out the Chicagoland Vampires, series, too, so I could just chillax.
