Vampire Day in Plattsmouth, Nebraska

Check out my new interview with John at Grasping for the Wind!

And speaking of guest slots, I’m really excited about an event that’s coming up on Saturday, August 8. I’ll be participating in a biting (ha ha) day of vampire fun at the Plattsmouth, Nebraska Public Library.  Events include:

11:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.
Some Girls Bite Booksigning (Copies available for sale)

12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
Free snacks and vampire trivia with Some Girls Bite giveaways

1:00 p.m.-3:00p.m.
Free screening of Twilight

This will be my first look at Twilight, so I’m really excited.  Please drop by if you’re in the ‘hood and thanks to Kirsten and the Plattsmouth Library staff for organizing this fun event!

Also, thanks to PNR Inklings for naming SOME GIRLS BITE a June 2009 Recommended Read!!

I’m off to sign books at this year’s OSFEST (4:00-5:00 today, if you’re in the Omaha, Nebraska area), and then it’s back home for a cookout with some friends.  The menu is full of my favorites: brownie trifle, hashbrown casserole, strawberry daquiries. I’ve been saving up calories for a week!  🙂

Happy weekend, everyone!

  • Oh man. I would LOVE to go. But Nebraska is very-very far from St. Louis. I don't think I could talk anyone into a road trip either. Dang it! 🙁

  • @ Jessica – That would be quite a drive. We'll miss you! 🙂

@ Katarina – This is hashbrown casserole:

    HASBROWN CASSEROLE
1 (32 oz.) bag frozen hashbrown potatoes, thawed
    8 oz. carton sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    Two shakes of onion powder
    1 stick butter, melted
10 to 12 oz. grated cheddar cheese
    Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients. Spray 9×13 pan with cooking spray, and add in mixture. Top with crushed Corn Flakes that have been mixed with a little softened butter. Bake at 350 for about an hour (or until hashbrowns are well cooked).

    YUM!
