“Three Cheers for the Chicagoland Vampires Series” says RT Book Reviews

DRINK DEEP garners four stars from RT Book Reviews!

Three cheers for the Chicagoland Vampire series and Neill’s latest addition! The story picks up where Hard Bitten left off: Merit is mourning the loss of Ethan. It’s a loss that permeates her spirit and sets the tone for the book. Yet Neill manages to keep the action going and the tension tight as Merit struggles to fulfill her obligations and make sense of the ever-changing world around her.

Merit is still reeling from the death of Ethan when all heck breaks out in Chicago. The river and lake have turned black and are sucking magic from the city. Cadogan House is falling apart under the rule of a GP-appointed jerk.

Merit’s loyalties are changing and it’s tearing her apart. Every change pulls her further from her connection to Ethan. As friends and loyalties change, Merit may not be prepared for the biggest change of all: The loss of a friend and a renewed love.

Thanks to RTBR for reading and reviewing DRINK DEEP!

    • Renewed… not new. I don’t believe Chloe is mean enough to make this whole death thing permanent.

  • Hmmmm, she said renewed-does that mean someone she was previously involved with………..or is Ethan somehow coming back. The anticipation is truly killing me.

  • I just love the serie, and I don’t know how they didn’t launched your books here in Brazil. I’m just glade I can read then.
    Nice work Chloe!

  • I’m really freaking here… I dont have a good feeling in my stomach!!!! It says RENEWED love… Nick? Ethan? Those are the only two that she actually have had major feelings for.

  • “The loss of a friend and a renewed love”

Maybe Mallory dies and Ethan is back. Which would be cruel

    • Or Catcher dies bringing Ethan back. Which would also be sad and then Mallory’s heart would be broken. Plus she might feel resentful towards Merit.

  • Agreed with Jani. I hope nothing happens to Mallory at the expense of possibly bringing Ethan back, but I guess that’s a bit unrealistic when it comes to this series, right? I’m more excited for next month to come though. November needs to be here already!

  • I really dont think Malloray is going to die. She (just like Ethan) is a crucial to the story… but if something does happen, it would be just to cruel… Cant wait for November… Nerves are a nervous wreak

  • I thimk its about the same person. Because it says change not changes. So I really dont think its Mallory.

  • Just got my RTBR copy and also read the great review. Maybe a renewed interest with Morgan could be on the horizon hmmmm…. can’t wait!!!!

  • Ethan must come back!!! snif snif Pleace!!!
Ethan muss wider kommen!!! snif snif Bitte!!!!
Ethan tiene que volver!!! buuu buuu por favor!!!

    😀

  • Changing loyalties? As in away from Cadogan House? Eek! A renewed love? Oh please, please let it be Ethan…but I fear it’s not. 🙁

  • Ahhh! Merit, Mallory and Catcher must live forever! And Ethan must come back…The end 🙂 lol

  • I wonder if Gabriel is going to be the one to die. Didn’t he say something about having a vision of Merit saving his kids or something. Maybe she’s saving them because he’s no longer around to protect them????? I’m going to have to go back and re-read I think,

    • No…..Crystal you are definitely on to something. What Merit saw in Gabriel’s eyes was her with Gabriel’s son and then there was a reference to eyes that looked so much like Ethan’s but not quite his……………All I know is this CAN”T be the end of Ethan! He is way too crucial to this wonderful world that Chloe has created to truly be gone for good. Put Merit with anyone else (Nick, Morgan, heck even Noah or Jonah) just would not fit. It would not fill the hole that was left in us (the readers) that was created when she wrote Ethan’s death……..At least, here’s hoping. I guess we shall see in November.

    • Maybe Jonah does (you made me giggle with that statement), but like Crystal said, the most obivious one is Gabriel. Anywoo, we’ll see in a few weeks
