I’m starting to get excited–and nervous–about the release of FRIDAY NIGHT BITES. The prelim reviews have been good…let’s hope sales are fabulous, so Penguin keeps ordering Merit’s adventures. I have lots and lots of stories to tell! 🙂

And now for some completely shameless promotion (other than my usual shameless promotion). I’ve been getting lots of questions lately about doing booksignings in other parts of the country (rather than my usual jaunts through the Midwest). Long story short, new authors aren’t typically invited to do booksignings, so I’m tremendously grateful to the stores that have hosted me (and the new stores that will host me during the next go-round).
So, really, it all comes down to sales. I’m trying to market at every opportunity, and I thought I’d list a few ideas in case you’d interested in joining the FNB Street Team.
1. Have I guest-interviewed on your blog? If not, invite me!
2. Have you told a friend about the Chicagoland Vampires series?
3. Does your bookstore (independent or otherwise) carry Some Girls Bite and/or Friday Night Bites? If they don’t have any in stock, ask for some. If they have books in stock, are they willing to put them “facing out” on bookshelves, or on the ubiquitous “If you like vampire novels . . .” table?
4. Feel free to offer up my e-mail address to bookstores (chloe [at] chloe neill [dot] com). Managers can contact me for information or to chat about possible events.
5. Twitter, Facebook, Blog, Myspace and Amazon-Discuss to your heart’s content.
6. Have you considered making Some Girls Bite or Friday Night Bite a book club selection?

Monica – Glad you enjoyed FNB! TWICE BITTEN (which I'm finishing now), will be released in July 2010. But before that, the first book in my new young adult series, FIRESPELL, will be released in January.
July 2010 is simply too long!
