Ready for a New Kind of Mystery?

This is a photograph of the marquee in front of the Chicago Theatre in downtown Chicago:

This is a close-up of the same photograph.
Check out the symbol behind the word “CHICAGO” — a circle with a capitol “Y” inside it.
This symbol–this image– can be found on buildings and public works across the city of Chicago. Folks have theorized that the “Y” symbolizes the Chicago River. But even if it does symbolize the River, doesn’t it just make you wonder why it’s on the buildings?
On January 5, 2010, you’ll find out. Get ready for the mystery. 🙂

  • That's a tad scary….unless it's an ongoing 'in-joke' amongst city employees…
Looking forward to finding out. 🙂

  • I like a good mystery…and I just wanted to say thanks for writing Friday Night Bites! It is fantastic! I had several books to read first that people gave me for my birthday so I got to it later than I wanted to, but once I picked up FNB, I finished in a couple hours and was blown away!
