Part of my daily “Internet Routine” (in addition to checking out various cooking and design sites), is checking out a handful of publishing blogs that I really enjoy. I only found them a few weeks ago, so I thought I’d post them in case they’re new to you:
1. Editorial Ass: Moonrat is a “recovering editorial assistant,” and in addition to monthly bookclubs and read-alongs, posts publishing Q&As and other goodies.
2. Nathan Bransford: I’ve been a Tweet follower of Nathan’s for a while, but he has a full-blown (and recently redesigned) blog, as well. Great, common sense advice and industry round-ups.
3. Pimp My Novel: Fabulous industry insight. I’ve learned tons.
4. Editorial Anonymous: Questions from readers answered almost daily. Generally related to publishing youth titles, but still full of helpful advice.
5. The Rejecter: An agent’s assistant offers frank advice and answers reader questions.
In addition to their regular blog entries, check the authors’ side bars for links to previous blogs on publishing, writing and marketing.
Also check out Randy Susan Meyers’ guest blog on Books on Writing. On Randy’s recommendation, I picked up Stephen Koch’s The Modern Library Writer’s Workshop: A Guide to the Craft of Fiction yesterday; already, I’m in lurv.
