Times are hard for newly minted vampire Merit. Ever since shapeshifters announced their presence to the world, humans have been rallying against supernaturals–and they’re camping outside of Cadogan House with protest signs that could turn to pitchforks at any moment. Inside its doors, things between Merit and her Master, green-eyed heartbreaker Ethan Sullivan are … tense. But then the mayor of Chicago calls Merit and Ethan to a clandestine meeting and tells them about a violent vamp attack that has left three women missing. His message is simple: get your House in order. Or else.

Merit needs to get to the bottom of this crime, but it doesn’t help that she can’t tell who’s on her side. So she secretly calls in a favor from someone who’s tall, dark, and part of underground vamp group that may have some deep intel on the attack. Merit soon finds herself in the heady, dark heart of Chicago’s supernatural society–a world full of vampires who seem to ready to fulfill the protesting human’s worst fears, and a place where she’ll learn that you can’t be a vampire without getting a little blood on your hands…

Release date is May 3, 2011.

  • Wow i def cant want till Hard Bitten comes out. I read the books in 3 days and was hooked no doubt thirsting for more. Thank you Chloe Neil for making the CV books awesome

  • I CAN'T WAIT! I just finish Twice Bitten about 10 minutes ago (I know long over due). I am SPEECHLESS! There is no way I can think straight tomorrow and NOT wounder what's going to happen in Hard Bitten. The synopsis looks AWESOME! Love your books. I'm reading Firespell soon. Can't wait! Keep writing!   • Ah! Thank you! I've been waiting for this. I found Some Girls Bite a few months ago and read it in about an hour (or it felt that way anyway, it just couldn't put it down). I had to run out and get the other two. Then I read them again. I had to force myself to stop a third time so I could get to some of my other books. But, yeah,I can't wait till May. I get so excited when I see your word count go up 🙂

  • Oh man! It's so unfair that May is sooo far away. I just devoured the first three books in about two weeks time. Now I'm spoiled and don't see how I can possibly make it until May.

    Underground vampire, huh? Does this mean the Red Guard will be back?

  • Stephanie – The link to HB on Amazon should be available any time now, at least for the paperback. The Kindle version will probably be available for pre-order in April.

  • That is an awesome synopsis. I just went and preordered Hard Bitten. *sighs* My list of preordered supernatural type books is growing 😀 There are now 2!

  • Nooo, NO, WHAT…things are..'tense' for Ethan and Merit…Please don't make me hurl my sony e-reader against the wall…I'll just DIE if they are not making up and a real couple!! That synopsis looked very unromantic 🙁 I bet that darn Merit is acting all "I'm scared/too mad to go there with you again"…ugh 🙁 This has put me in a bad place….I too (like Ethan) am 'completely undone'…but not in the great way, lol
