It’s a long title, but a great cause.

The Second Annual Greater Chicago Food Depository Virtual Food Bank Drive starts today!
Simply click on the link below to make your donation. You can specify a dollar amount, or select specific food items to virtually “purchase” for a needy family.
Everyone who makes a donation between April 1, 2011 and April 15, 2011 (midnight, CST) is eligible to win a special prize back that includes Chicagoland Vampires swag, a signed tote bag, and a Wi-Fi Amazon Kindle (or gift card, if you already have one), valued at $139! (Stay tuned for more details about the swag.)
There is no minimum donation to enter the prize contest, and every bit helps. If you can afford to “buy” a gallon of milk, that’s one more gallon of milk for a hungry family in Chicago.
EVERY DONATION IS IMPORTANT. EVERY DONATION HELPS.
I’ll get things started with a $100 donation.

    quick question……is there any way to make a donation etc for the food drive via paypal,as i dont have a credit card and i dont like to put my debit card details on the computer,would really love to help and i have money in my paypal account that could do so much good

  • Well, I am a computer dud. I donated and can't figure out how to forward. I didn't receive anything via my email address to forward to you. Have any advice? otherwise, keep up the good work. Jenn B

  • @Becca – I'm not sure if they accept paypay; you'd have to check the GCFD web site.

    @JennB – After you donate, if you provided an email address at the time of your donation, you will receive an email at that address from aidmatrix.org with your receipt.

  • I found the donation receipt in my spam trap…I don't know what happened but my computer couldn't 'decode' it? Anyway, I'm not sure how you are keeping track of donations (via forwarded receipts or through the donation site) so I thought, since you are so close to your goal, I'd let you know $104.24 was donated and not forwarded to you. Hope you reach your goal. You are a dedicated cookie.

  • Seems like they're also a bit slow on receipts too, I got mine a few hours after the donation.
