  • I absolutely love the fact that you title all of your chapters, and how you title them!

    But…

    “Plus, it was just down the hall from a kitchen loaded with junk food and bagged blood provided by our awfully named delivery service, Blood4You.”

    I thought that all the food was overly healthy?

    “vampirocide”

    vampiricide? (insecticide, matricide, patricide, suicide, etc, not insectoside, matrocide, patrocide, suicode). Homocide is probably an exception because of “homo sapien”

    • 1. Merit didn’t know the food was all healthy. She isn’t advised of that until later in the chapter.

      2. Merit pronounces the word “vampirocide.” Thus, I spelled it the way she pronounced it. 🙂

  • I know this may get me stoned in the town square but… I’m kind of cheering for Jonah. I still miss Ethan but Jonah is interesting.

  • Wow, thanks Chloe!!! That totally had me sucked in after only a chapter, I love Merit’s world – even though my heart is still broken like hers over Ethan….seriously, those last chapters of Hard Bitten left a hole inside! November seems really far away right now, counting down the days!! xx

  • I am already tense from reading this excerpt. Tense in a good way – Ethan! – tense in a bad way – GP! Oh, I also hate Frank. Thanks for the early release – goes a long way to assuage the (albeit short) tortuous wait between books. Also looking forward to the play list.

  • Thank you for these chapters. As everybody, november seems so far away. I would almost like to skip the all summer to have november arriving sooner…

    Just a guess: the new power with gosts Mallory was working on in Hard Bitten should be useful for Merit and Ethan…
