The Dark Elite release contest!

THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. THANKS!

As promised, we are only three short weeks away from the August 2, 2011 release of THE DARK ELITE (a trade paperback featuring FIRESPELL and HEXBOUND), and it’s time to celebrate!

What’s the prize, you ask? Actually, there are many. I’ll be giving away FIVE prize packs this time.

Each prize pack will include: a signed copy of HARD BITTEN; a signed copy of one international Dark Elite or Chicagoland Vampires release; some Dark Elite and Chicagoland Vampires swag; and a young adult paranormal sampler.

The YA Sampler was created just for Comic-Con, and it is sweeeet. In addition to a bit of FIRESPELL, it includes samples by lots of other authors, including Rachel Caine and Veronica Wolff (y’all are going to LOVE her)!

And now, the rules:

To enter, leave a comment on THIS page (no emails, please) identifying your favorite Dark Elite character.

DON’T WORRY IF YOUR COMMENT DOESN’T SHOW UP IMMEDIATELY–TO COMBAT SPAM I HAVE TO APPROVE MOST COMMENTS. IT WILL SHOW UP!

You may only leave one comment per day, but you may enter once per day through July 24, 2011. (Thus, you can leave multiple comments in total through the contest period, but only one per day.)  All entries must be received before 11:59 p.m. CST on July 24, 2011.

Each comment will receive one entry in the contest. You will receive one additional entry by doing one or more of the following (and listing them in your comment):

NOTE: Obviously, the list of stuff above is intended to help market the Dark Elite series and the release of THE DARK ELITE. Word of mouth is just crucial for releases these days. It’s important–and really, really helpful–work, and I appreciate everything that you all do to help get the word out.

  • My favorite character from Dark Elite is Sebastian. He’s obviously got more than one side to him, and I can’t wait to see if Lily will actually let him help her out more in the coming novels. I also just find him a bit more intriguing than Jason, although that might just be because of the forbidden-factor;)

  • I havent actually read any of your Dark Elite books but I LOVE your Chicagoland Series and I am definately gonna read the dark elite books. I need some Chloe Neill to hold me over until Drink Deep comes out. I am sure I will love all your characters because I love them all in your other series.   • I haven’t read either of these novels in their separate forms as life, college and kids have gotten in the way. I read the first chapter where Lily starts at the school and how she is dealing with her separation from family. If she has the same guts as Merit does then I am sure she will be my fav.

  • hey chloe, my favorite character of your books in the dark elite series has to be sebastion, though lily does come in a close second. The reason he is my favorite is because first, there is so much you can do to expand on his character in the upcoming books of the series. We all know he is on the wrong side of the war happening in the book but we also know that he strongly believes in the cause he’s fighting for. I think he could either become the main villain (which isn’t how i see the series going) or become part of a love triangle with lily and Jason. To me it seemed that Lily and Sebastion could really become a serious thing.

    I don’t own my own computer so therefor I will be truthful and say that I do not have a facebook, twitter or goodreads account personally so I am unable to add you. But i sincerely do love you book and not only you dark elite series but also you chicagoland vampires series. And even though you did not ask for my opinion my favorite character in that series is merit though i do love ethan (i don’t know something about his character makes me sympathize for him and truly start to care about him even when he makes horrible decisions or says ridiculous things).

    also recommmended your YA series by word of mouth,iam a dinner lady at my son’s school(iam only 29yrs so iam kinda cool to the kids,tattoos and great taste in books!!) mentioned what a great read your book are to the (year 5/6 ages 11ish )teachers and also some very good reader in that class too,i recommened others and they go down great(kim harrisons)!!shame my kids are too young to enjoy (6and4).

  • I originally said my favourite character was scout and although I still love her and I think she is great, after re-reading firespell yesterday and although I am still very muching needing to read hexbound I think I’m also loving Sebastian for my favourite character. He’s obviously a bad boy, which I love but there seems to be more to him than just that, and I can’t wait to see what happens between him and Lily, however I am kinda routing for lily and jason at the moment!

  • I am not sure it you are supposed to comment on which of the items I have completed in the dark elite series contest. But, I have completed items 1-3 and 7-8. Yeah, I really like the “meritverse” title!!

    So, if the dark elite series is being compiled into one book, are the chicagoland vampires being re-released into hardback or mass media print?

  • Back again… another day, another entry! Scout is still my fav. I tried to see what else I could do to help promote the new release. I don’t belong to any book forums but I did go in last night on Amazon and write a review of both Dark Elite books as well as the latest Chicagoland vampire book (under JCollier). 5 star reviews of course! Does that count as another entry? I also pinned the new Dark Elite release to my pinterest board (although I had already submitted that the Chicagoland book was pinned long before this contest). I will be back tomorrow!

  • Have never read the Dark Elite Series but am hoping to soon. Have only read the first book of the Chicago Vampire series but already love it…It’s fun that both series are set in my favorite city of Chicago. Need to visit there again soon.
