I am honored and thrilled by Library Journal’s lovely review of Ember Eternal:
Fox and Wren are bonded servants. Discarded by their family in order to cover debts, they thieve in addition to working for the lady of their stronghold to get by. Their number-one rule is don’t get noticed; number two, only steal from those who can afford it. Then one day, Fox goes against her instinct and steps into the middle of the newly arrived royal guards to warn them of an attack. Fox is one of the few who can see Aether magic, and the assassin preparing to kill the prince is covered in it. Fox continues to assist the guards in their investigation (for coin, of course, definitely not due to the handsome and intelligent guard Nik). Her power to see and feel Aether makes Fox a target for a dangerous wielder, however, and having Wren at her back and Nik at her side might not be enough to save her.
VERDICT Neill has already perfected the art of compelling storytelling through her urban fantasy “Chicagoland Vampires” series, and with top-notch character development and worldbuilding, she successfully steps into the romantasy genre as she launches this first book in the “Souls Burn Brightest” series.
I’m so grateful! And now we’re less than a month away from EE’s November 25 release. Are you ready?
xoxo, Chloe
