The Books in the Chicagoland Vampires Series, Described in a Single Word

Backstory: I assign each of the hub’s video games a one-word nickname. For example, the game “Disgaea” is, simply, “Squares.”

I thought I’d do the same for the Chicagoland Vampires, so here’s my interpretation. 🙂

Some Girls Bite = Vampires!

Friday Night Bites = Dresses

Twice Bitten = Growls

Hard Bitten = Tears

Drink Deep = Magicks

Biting Cold = Books

House Rules = Masters

Thoughts? Got any funny one-word descriptions I didn’t think of?

  • Should’a added this to my previous comment, but here are a few of my thoughts on the one-word description…

    Some Girls Bite…”transition”, “rebirth”.

    Friday Night Bites brings to mind themes like “bonding” or “converging”…both in Merit and Ethan’s relationship and in Merit finally “becoming one with her inner vampire”, if you’ll excuse me getting all zen-y. Coming together, but n-o-o-o-t quite there yet.

    Twice Bitten could be “betrayal”.

    Hard Bitten – “Loss”. Gut wrenching, bawling buckets “loss”.

    Drink Deep….well, other than depression or grief, I think of words that describe Merit going it alone, using what she got from Ethan when he was still alive (in 1.0 form) and trying to do the right thing on her own. “Resilience”, “fortitude”, “endurance”. (Thank you, Thesaurus.com!)

    Biting Cold makes me think “redemption” or “atonement”. Or even better, GNOMES!!

  • I like “gnomes.” I also liked “wings,” but thought it too spoilery for the main page. 🙂 But for comments, it’s fine. 🙂
