"Prairie Avenue’s Unlikely Survivor"

Chicago Magazine has a great video and feature on the Wood-Maxy-Boyd house, a gorgeous Queen-Anne style mansion on Prairie Avenue (not far from Kimball House, the model for Cadogan House).

The house is currently for sale, but is in need of significant repair. Watch the video and check out the gallery. It’s so very Cadogan. Can’t you just imagine Ethan on these stairs??

If you weren’t convinced, check out a haunting Flickr photo. Ethan in a window, paparazzi at a corner, and Merit’s orange Volvo out front, and you’d be all set.
Now, if only I had $2 million sitting around . . . (Via Gaper’s Block)
Update: David Schalliol is the photographer of the haunting Flickr photo mentioned above. He’s a student at U of C and has done a visual study of isolated buildings. The pictures are phenomenal, and I’ll be referring back to his site in the future for location scouting purposes.
