As I Facebooked earlier, I know HARD BITTEN was a hard book, and that I’m asking you to trust me with the fates of characters we both love.
Having said that, HARD BITTEN HIT THE NEW YORK TIMES LIST!!!
It’s #16 for Trade Paperback Fiction, #21 for E-Book Fiction, and #33 for Combined E-Book and Print Fiction. (The numbers aren’t up on the web site yet, as they’ll be released in the May 22 NYT Book Review.)
It’s also #66 on the USA Today list!

Congradulations! I’m really excited for you! Will there be a hardcover CV in the future? Oh I seem to remember something last summer about a potential tattoo if CV #3 hit the NYT. Does that hold for CV4?

Ahem. Technically, the tattoo thing was only if TWICE BITTEN hit the NYT list. But really, it’s the fact that I still have a day job, and I think it best to avoid the ink for now. š

Wow. I love your books, and with all the talk about the emotional ending, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to miss this latest entry, if only just to be able to express a supportable opinion about their feelings on same. There was a good discussion on fictionvixen (spoilers included), which summed up the tremendous diversity of opinions VEHEMENTLY expressed. Its those books that elicit strong emotions that are the keepers. Yours are not those “forgettable” books that float away into archive on kindles. The CV series is a keeper, without doubt.

I’v only started to read cv this year and have fallen in love with the series I read on average a book a day so I get through ALOT of books but very few of the books i’v read have entraped me like this series, and even less I would consider to read twice. I’v read the first 3 books 4 times and just finished Hard Bitten it’s become an addiction. I love the characters and the sarcasam. I don’t know where the series is going but I will blindly follow wherever it goes. Keep up the brilliant work.

Congrats !!! I remember deciding to try the 1st book and wondering if I would get hooked, yes I did! A good author gives you intense emotions and you do/ did-thanks!! Maybe you could include my city of Crystal Lake, IL, where Mob families used to spend their summers in one of your future books? Just a thought….
